The Tip....

I recently received this email from a good friend of mine....

This past weekend as I was serving tables I overheard another server vocalize some frustration. As I asked her what was going on she proceeded to hand me a fake $10 bill. The table she had been serving had left this fake bill as the gratuity and nothing more. She mentioned that it was specifically sticking out of the top of the "bill-booklet" so as to look like cash. As I looked closer at the fake bill the following inscription was written:

Disappointed?
Jesus won't let you down.
Make Jesus Christ Lord of your life!
For God so loved the world...(verse written out) Jn 3:16
God provided us with things money can't buy.
...love, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. (notice...they left out kindness)
Pray to receive Jesus into your heart!
(followed by a written prayer).

Her exact words to me were, "If this represents Jesus, I want nothing to do with Him." No joke. I actually tried to track the people down but they had already left. I ended up "buying" the fake bill off of her so she had a tip...which resulted in 3 different conversations with different staff people about Jesus.

This seems silly but if you know of these tactics or know of people who use these tactics (whether the information is true or not) please discourage and rip them up...or tell them to actually tip really well which will get the servers attention and then read it! This situation quite negatively affected the people involved (as more than the one server was in on the situation) and as I am vocal about Jesus it negatively affected the voice I have had in these peoples lives.

Please pray that we as followers of Jesus as a whole would not hinder the work of the Spirit any longer!
